Ray has been a professional TV scriptwriter for over 25 years. He learnt his trade writing for The Bill, then moved on to writing for the BBC daytime drama Doctors, where he quickly established himself as one of the core writers. To date he’s written over 100 episodes of the Birmingham based series. In 2004 his 90 minute special took the ‘Best Episode’ prize at the Soap Awards. He has also written for Casualty, EastEnders, River City and the 1950’s police drama WPC56.
Venus Sleeping is Ray’s debut novel – a police procedural set in South Wales.
